The way tracking works is the chart shows which position the company shows up on the search engine results when the keyword "[Your City] ac repair". On this chart, the 5 to 10 are the bottom half of the first page of Google (10 search results per page).

Keep in mind - This is just the start for us! But it let's the company know they're not wasting their money - that's Key and so important to us all. Owners understand there is a cost, they just can't waste their investment.

I get it - I'm a DIYr too, always have been - but this is not something you should try if your serious about running a successful HVAC company.

Maybe this will help anyone that thinks they can do it. I see marketing companies that specialize on HVAC SEO not do it correctly - I will be happy to prove this - so you shouldn't try unless you want to stay small - then of course it won't matter so have fun experimenting - it's your right to do.

I have a current situation of 2 HVAC business owners that were sent a proposal at about the exact same time. One signed up and the other talked to me tons and picked my brain on what to do. He has seen so much bad SEO that he is convinced he can do better.

I'm watching him DIY now and the results are in. Client A that signed up has dozens of keywords on page one totaling traffic of 1500 times showing up on page one, some in the #1 position.

DIY man has about 100 maybe and that's at the very bottom of the page one. Not only that he has all kinds of errors that may not be looking good to Google so it's still up in the air how negative these errors are going to effect things.

5 Months wasted up to now and many more months wasted coming up for the DIY guy. He's a long way from his goal and I wish he would let me help him and he just do good HVAC work. He's a great guy, very experienced at HVAC, but he doesn't understand delegation, and it is costing him bigtime in lost revenue. That revenue would make it very easy to pay for the service and he would be able to sleep at night knowing it's handled, because things always come up so it's a full time job - not one he wants. He has plenty to do just to run the business and handle the things that come up with HVAC and serving customers while managing the HVAC techs.
